I’m sure you’ve seen this all around.
You almost can’t get away from it anymore. Teddy Bear Coats! Super fun, cozy and can be a great addition to your wardrobe. Today I’ll be giving you a rundown of this trend as well as linking a few great coats for you all to shop!
If I’m being 100% honest I’m not sure when this design originally started. I do know however, that I’ve seen this style coat since at least last year. How? I started getting ideas to start my blog in Feb. 2018 and was obsessed with the brand Tiger Mist, an Australian brand that has a LOT of cute pieces (I totally recommend by the way). One in particular is the now famous I.Am.Gia Pixie Coat. I knew since last winter that I needed this coat. Little did I know that everyone else would feel exactly the same way!
Teddy Coats now
Now almost every brand has their own version of a Teddy Bear coat! The defining feature of this coat is the fluffy texture of the outer layer. Like it feels like a teddy bear, hence the name. But these coats come in several different styles and colors now that you can pair them with different things for different looks. For now, I’ll tell you all about my I.Am.Gia. coat.
Teddy Bear Coat of my Dreams
It is everything I was hoping it would be. Warm. Cozy. Oversized. And surprisingly more lightweight than I was imagining. Not in a way that compromises any warmth given by the coat, but in a way that doesn’t feel heavy to wear. Petite gals, this trend is not something to be afraid of. Just because we’ve got a small frame doesn’t mean we’ll be swallowed by something oversized. I got this particular coat in a small and it fits true to size!
I think this coat is for more casual looks. Weekend wear material if I’ve ever seen any. I really like this coat paired with unique jeans. I think this features both pieces nicely. Plus with the size of this coat, your top is going to be pretty hidden. For even more trendiness, add some dad sneakers. This also adds another element of casual to this look. For a more dressed up look, try booties like these!
