I just recently started wearing extensions. I’ve been wearing them for a few months now. I’ve written about my firs experience here. For those of you who don’t know, I get my hair done at Fenix Beauty Lounge in Lawton, Oklahoma. It’s a great little shop run by super talented women. One of those women, is named Whitney and she amazing. She’s helped me with my whole transition to extensions and is very reasonable with her pricing. If you’re in the Lawton or West Texas area, I’d highly recommend going to see her!
So You Said a Vixen?
Yes! It is the name of the technique used to braid and sew the hair. For a traditional sew in, a hairstylist will braid the natural hair across the head, cover with a net and sew in the tracks of hair to the net. Typically, the hairstylist is trying to get the braids to lay as flat as possible. If you’re a visual person like me, check out this video on how a sew in is typically installed!
A vixen style is a bit different. Instead of braiding the hair all across the head, the braids are kept 4 different sections. This allows the natural hair to be left out down in a cross shape. Here is a video tutorial for all you visual babes. This style is used for more up do hair styles!
SO! Get ready to see ya girl wearing lot more up dos! I’ve been known to wear a half up half down do on the regular. Maybe channel some Ariana Grande vibes with some high ponytails. Who knows! The possibilities are endless!!
