It’s Spring time!
Spring is my favorite season. I love seeing all the flower blooms, the grass turning green and the sun coming out to play. It’s like the whole world is waking back up from the winter. Because the weather can be unpredictable during spring, often times I find myself needing a jacket. I get cold easily anyway and usually need a jacket for every outfit. Jean jackets are my favorite to style for spring. They are so versatile and come in so many different styles. Today I’ll be showing you three outfits styling a simple jean jacket!
I shared this outfit earlier in the week on my Instagram (@marlee_eliza). I picked up this jean jacket thrift shopping at Goodwill. Truthfully, I think it’s a kid’s jacket but that’s the beauty of thrift shopping, no limits or restrictions. This is the piece that inspired this post so that’s why this outfit is number one! I love this jacket for a lot of different reasons, but mainly, I love the cut. Being petite it can be difficult to find the right cut, a lot of jackets fit too big. This one is great because it isn’t cropped but it’s also not oversized. That makes it so versatile and easily worn with different outfits. Here I’ve dresses it up a bit with a ruffle skirt from Not Ur Ordinary Boutique. I decided to keep it buttoned in the middle so it looks more like a top than a jacket. Adding a little hair scarf gives it a cutesy look as well. It obviously is still a very casual look but would be great for running around town or meeting up with friends.
Jean jackets and dresses work so well together! I think it’s fun to take a girly dress and add an edgy jean jacket. It’s such a unique look in my opinion. Here I’ve paired a really springy gingham dress from Moon River with an oversized light wash jean jacket. This particular jacket I snagged from Target a few months ago. It is part of their Wild Fable brand. I have searched everywhere for this exact jacket and it’s nowhere to be found. In the shop section I’ve linked another Wild Fable light wash jacket with a little more distressing. This outfit would be so great for a casual day date!
This is the most casual look of the three. Skirts and dresses are what I wear mostly in Spring but throwing on sweatpants is always an option. This is an easy way to dress up sweatpants for running errands or just being lazy around the house. Adding a jean jacket dresses the sweatpants up enough to be acceptable to wear in public and not feel totally lazy. It’s a cute and sporty look that literally anyone can rock. I added a hat and sunglasses to complete the “I’m a celeb getting through the airport” look.
I hope you enjoy the way I’m styling jean jackets this spring. In truth, you can style them any way you’d like as long as you’re comfortable with what you’re in. I hope this post has given you a little jean jacket inspo this season. Let me know how you feel in the comments!
